Road Superintendent, Kirk Walker
Munson Township maintains 48.12 miles of roads and cul-de-sacs in Munson Township. The state of Ohio maintains State Routes 322 and 44, Geauga County is responsible for Auburn, Bass Lake, Butternut, Mulberry, Thwing and Wilson Mills Roads. Private undedicated roads are maintained by the homeowners. If you have a question about your road, contact the government branch is responsible for maintaining your road; Ohio Department of Transportation 216-581-2100 (Burton yard), the Geauga County Engineer 440-279-1800 or Munson Township 440-286-9255. The Munson Road Department is located at 11000 Sherman Road. In addition to road maintenance and snow removal, the Township Road Department is responsible for the Township buildings, cemeteries, parks and grounds. Kirk Walker is the Road Department Superintendent, and crew members: Jason Vatty, Ross McKinstry, Steve Grzsik, Joshua Helms and Alex Toth.

Zoning is the regulation of the use of land and buildings which enables a community to control the development of its own territory providing for orderly growth. The Zoning Resolution dates back to 1948 when Munson Township was the first rural Township in the state of Ohio to enact Township zoning. Zoning Inspector James Herringshaw handles all applications for zoning certificates. His office hours at the Munson Township Hall, 12210 Auburn Road, are from 9am-3pm on Mon., Wed., & Fri. He is available other hours by appointment. Residents may stop in or call ahead to schedule an appointment - 440-286-9182. |
