Each member must give 6 months of training time to become a State Certified Firefighter. EMT training requires an additional 130 hours of classroom time, 20 hours of emergency room training and completion of a National Registry Examination.  Advanced EMT's require 40 classroom hours, 16 lab hours, 12 clinical hours, and 24 hours of field internship,
